Bikers unite for the Installation at Prince Leopold Lodge of MMM No.352

Not a case of Mark Masonry meets the Hairy Bikers, although there were a number of hirsute Masons present, but friends of Worshipful Brother Jim Millington, Past Master of the Joey Dunlop Lodge, being present to see him take the chair at Prince Leopold lodge of MMM No. 352. The attendance was enhanced by the presence of a good contingent, including the Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother David Preston, from Knaresborough Castle Lodge of MMM No. 768. the Brethren of which undertook stewarding duties, and very efficiently if I may say

Proceedings were in the hands of the Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Carlton Caswell who quickly expedited the initial Agenda items.  A knock, someone at the door, the Inner Guard enquired and reported to the Junior Warden with full details, who turned to the WM and uttered the immortal words’ the aforesaid’, a Lodge then regaled in laughter. The Lodge then welcomed the Deputy Provincial Director of Ceremonies, Worshipful Brother Andrew Brown who subsequently introduced the  Provincial Grand Senior Warden, Worshipful Brother Mark Holland accompanied by Worshipful Brother Sam Carris , Elected Member of the Charity Committee.

W.Bro. Jim then repeated the necessary parts of his Obligation, was invested with the Collar and Jewel of his Office and duly placed in the Chair by W.Bro. Carlton. The W.M. was then reminded of the Working Tools by V.W.Bro. Robbie Scorer and with the Keystone Collaret, after explanation by W.Bro.Les Davy, by W.Bro. Carlton. The Addresses were then delivered in good order by the following;

Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Richard Beecroft.

Wardens, W.Bro. David Todd.

Overseers, W.Bro Revd.Ken Crossley.

Brethren, W.Bro. Mark Holland.

Good news followed with a Ballot for a new member  after which Worshipful Brother Paul Leach, also an Elected Member of the Charity Committee took the floor with Worshipful Brother Alan Hopwood and invested him with a Grand Patron Charity collaret, onwards and upwards to Gold Award.

The Lodge duly closed, the Festive Board beckoned and was eagerly received. The Toast to the Province was again delivered by W.Bro.Richard Beecroft, two years on the trot, Provincial Honours just around the corner. He acknowledged the many ways the Provincial Officers support Lodges, a lot of which is not immediately visible. W.Bro.Mark in response thanked him for his kind toast and stressed that it is the wish of the Provincial Grand Master that ritual books are not in evidence at our meetings, other than by the Preceptor, an occasional prompt should be all that is necessary, in other words attend practices Brethren. He would also like to see Masters in the Chair visiting more often and thereby demonstrating their commitment to the responsibility of their Office as Worshipful Master,  and with their Warden where possible; enabling all to cement current friendships and develop new.
